How It Works
No mystery. No surprises. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you book to the moment we fire up your freshly cleaned grill.
You Book — We Confirm
Fill out our quote form or call (484) 650-3809. Tell us:
- What kind of grill — gas, charcoal, flat top, smoker, kamado, outdoor kitchen, or "I have no idea what it is, it was here when we bought the house"
- The brand and model — if you know it. If not, a photo works great
- How long since the last deep clean — "never" is a perfectly acceptable answer
- Any add-ons you want — patio pressure wash, cover cleaning, etc.
We'll get back to you within a few hours (usually faster) with an exact quote and available appointment times. Most Berks County appointments are available within the same week.
Once you confirm, we lock in your time slot. You'll get a text confirmation and a reminder the day before.
Before We Arrive — What We Need From You
Not much. Seriously. But there are a few things that make the appointment go smoothly:
⚠️ We Need Access to a Water / Hose Connection
We bring our own cleaning products, tools, degreasing solutions, and a commercial pressure washer — but we cannot bring our own water supply. We need access to an outdoor spigot or hose bib within reasonable distance of your grill. If your water is shut off for winter, let us know when booking and we'll schedule accordingly.
Your prep checklist:
- Make sure the grill is off and cool. We can't work on a hot grill. If you used it the night before, that's fine — it'll be cool by morning.
- Clear the area around the grill. We need about 4-5 feet of workspace around your grill. Move patio furniture, plant pots, or anything fragile away from the work zone.
- Turn off the gas. For gas grills, shut off the propane tank or natural gas valve before we arrive. We'll reconnect and test when we're done.
- Outdoor hose access. Make sure your outdoor spigot is turned on and the hose reaches the grill area. We bring our own connectors and pressure washer.
- Remove personal items from the grill. Grill tools, thermometers, sauce bottles, that beer you left on the side shelf — grab it before we start.
- Pets. We love dogs. But a curious golden retriever and a bucket of degreaser are not a good combination. Keep pets inside or away from the work area during the cleaning.
You don't need to be home the entire time. As long as we can access the grill and the hose, we can work while you're out. Many customers give us access, run errands, and come back to a clean grill. We'll text you when we're done.
The Cleaning — Here's What Actually Happens
Our technician arrives on time (within a 30-minute window) in a marked vehicle with everything needed. Here's the process step by step:
Phase 1: Inspection & Assessment (10 minutes)
Before we touch anything, we inspect your grill. We take note of the model, condition, any existing damage, and what's going to need extra attention. If we quoted you based on a description and the grill turns out to be a different size or type, we'll adjust the price and get your approval before starting. No surprise charges.
We also take a "before" photo. Trust us — you'll want to see the comparison.
Phase 2: Full Disassembly (10-15 minutes)
This is where most DIY cleaning falls short. We don't just scrape the grates and call it a day. We remove every component: cooking grates, heat plates / Flavorizer bars, burner tubes, drip pans, grease trays, and anything else that comes out. Each piece gets cleaned individually.
For smokers and pellet grills, this includes the fire pot, heat deflector, drip tray, and internal components. For kamados, we remove grates, deflector plates, and clean around the gasket and fire ring.
Phase 3: Deep Cleaning (30-60 minutes)
This is the main event. Each component gets treated based on what it is:
- Cooking grates — degreased, scrubbed, and restored. Cast iron gets re-seasoned if needed.
- Burner tubes — every port cleared of debris, spider webs, and carbon. Flame pattern tested.
- Heat plates / Flavorizer bars — stripped of baked-on grease. If they're rusted through, we'll tell you.
- Firebox interior — scraped, degreased, and cleaned of carbon and creosote.
- Grease management system — trays, channels, and catch cups fully cleaned.
- Ignition system — electrodes cleaned, wiring checked, function tested.
- Exterior — stainless steel polished (with the grain), porcelain cleaned, painted surfaces wiped down.
What we use: Professional-grade, food-safe degreasers and cleaning solutions. Non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for all grill surfaces. We never use oven cleaner or harsh chemicals that leave residue on cooking surfaces. All cleaning products are brought by us — you don't need to supply anything.
Phase 4: Pressure Washing (if booked — 15-20 minutes)
If you've added a patio or deck pressure wash, we tackle that while the grill components are drying. Our commercial-grade gas pressure washer removes grease stains, mildew, dirt, and winter grime from concrete, pavers, stone, and composite decking.
We adjust pressure based on your surface — full power on concrete, lower on wood and composite to avoid damage. Grease stains that have been on your patio for years? We've got the right nozzle and the right technique.
Phase 5: Reassembly & Testing (15 minutes)
Everything goes back together. We reconnect the gas, test every burner for proper flame pattern, check the ignition on every zone, and run a performance test. For gas grills, we do a leak test on all connections.
We fire up the grill and verify even heat distribution across the entire cooking surface. If it's a pellet grill, we run a full startup cycle and verify temperature accuracy.
For flat top griddles, this is when we do the re-seasoning — 4-5 thin layers of high-smoke-point oil, heated between each coat, until the surface is dark, smooth, and non-stick.
Phase 6: Walkthrough & Photos (5 minutes)
We walk you through what we did, show you the before/after photos, and flag anything we noticed during the cleaning — worn parts, potential issues, or maintenance tips specific to your grill.
If we found something that needs attention (rusted-through parts, failing igniters, cracked gaskets), we'll tell you what the part is, where to get it, and whether you can DIY it or need a pro.
After We Leave — Fire It Up
Your grill is clean, tested, and ready to cook. The first thing you'll notice is the smell — or rather, the lack of one. No more rancid grease odor when you preheat. Just clean heat and whatever fuel you're using.
The second thing you'll notice is the flavor. Food tastes different on a clean grill. Better different. The kind of different that makes you wonder what you've been eating all these months on a dirty grill.
Post-Cleaning Tips We Give Every Customer
- First cook: Do a 15-minute preheat with the lid closed before your first cook. This burns off any residual cleaning solution (there shouldn't be any, but we're thorough about safety).
- Grates: Brush your grates while warm after every cook. 30 seconds of maintenance prevents 90% of buildup.
- Drip trays: Check and empty grease trays/catch cans monthly. Overflowing grease is the #1 cause of grill fires.
- Cover your grill. A $40 cover extends the life of your grill by years. Berks County weather is hard on outdoor equipment.
Payment
We collect payment after the cleaning is complete and you've seen the results. We accept cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, and all major credit cards (we bring a card reader). No payment required upfront.
Our Satisfaction Guarantee
If you're not happy, we come back. Simple as that. If you notice something we missed or you're not satisfied with any aspect of the cleaning, contact us within 48 hours and we'll schedule a return visit at no additional charge. No arguments, no hoops to jump through. We want you to be thrilled with the result.

Common Questions About the Process
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
Not necessarily. As long as we can access the grill and a water connection, we can work while you're away. Many customers head out and come back to a clean grill. We'll text you when we're wrapping up. That said, we recommend being around for the walkthrough at the end so we can show you the results and flag any maintenance items.
What if it rains on my appointment day?
Light rain doesn't stop us — we work under the grill lid for most of the process. Heavy rain or thunderstorms, we'll reschedule at no charge. We watch the forecast and will contact you the morning of if conditions look bad. Your appointment slot stays reserved.
Can you clean my grill if it's on a wooden deck?
Yes. We use drop cloths under our work area and adjust our pressure washer settings for wood surfaces. We're careful about runoff and won't damage your deck. If you have a composite deck (Trex, TimberTech), we use a fan nozzle at lower PSI to avoid etching.
What happens to the grease and waste?
We bag everything and take it with us. Old grease, carbon, ash, debris — it all leaves in our vehicle. We never leave a mess or dump waste on your property. The service fee covers disposal.
Is your pressure washer going to wake up the whole neighborhood?
Our gas pressure washer is commercial-grade and, yeah, it makes noise — about as loud as a lawn mower. We're mindful of the time of day and won't run it before 9 AM or after 5 PM. Most sessions are 15-20 minutes of pressure washer use. Your neighbors will survive.
Do you guarantee your work?
100%. If you're not satisfied with any part of the cleaning, let us know within 48 hours and we'll come back at no charge. No fine print, no exceptions. We've never had a customer take us up on it, and we want to keep that streak going.
Ready to See the Difference?
Most customers are genuinely shocked at the before-and-after. Book your cleaning and see for yourself.
