You Bought the Rolls-Royce of Gas Grills. We Treat It Like One.

Napoleon is the brand that grill people recommend to other grill people. While Weber and Char-Broil duke it out on the showroom floor, Napoleon quietly wins over the customer who did their homework. The WAVE rod cooking grids, infrared sear burner, heavy-duty stainless construction, and attention to engineering details make Napoleon grills some of the best-performing gas grills money can buy.

If you own a Napoleon, you probably already know all of this. What you might not know is that the same engineering that makes your Napoleon special also makes it more complex to clean than a basic gas grill. Multiple burner types (main, infrared, rear rotisserie), specialty cooking grids with unique geometry, and integrated features like smoker trays all require specific attention.

We don't treat your Napoleon like a generic gas grill. We treat it like the precision instrument it is.

Napoleon's Unique Components

WAVE Rod Cooking Grids. Napoleon's signature cooking grids have an undulating surface designed to channel grease away from food and create distinctive sear marks. The wave pattern means more surface area for grease to accumulate in — standard flat grates are easier to brush clean. Our process gets into every valley of the wave pattern.

Infrared SIZZLE ZONE Burner. The ceramic infrared sear burner reaches 1,800 degrees and produces restaurant-quality searing. But the ceramic element is fragile and the burner housing collects vaporized fat that bakes on at extreme temperatures. We clean the SIZZLE ZONE carefully — wrong tools can crack the ceramic emitter.

Rear Infrared Rotisserie Burner. The dedicated rotisserie burner behind the main cooking area accumulates grease from rotisserie cooks (whole chickens, roasts) that drips and bakes on the burner face and reflector. Most owners forget this exists because it's hidden behind the main grates. We don't forget.

Integrated Smoker Tray. Napoleon's built-in smoker drawer sits above a dedicated burner and produces real wood smoke. The tray and its surrounding area collect creosote and resin from wood chips. We clean the tray, the burner, and the adjacent area.

What We Clean

A Napoleon cleaning is our most detailed gas grill service:

  • Main burner tubes — all ports cleared and flame pattern tested
  • Infrared SIZZLE ZONE burner — ceramic element cleaned without damage
  • Rear rotisserie burner — face and reflector degreased
  • Smoker tray and dedicated burner
  • WAVE rod cooking grids — every valley cleaned
  • Stainless steel sear plates / heat distribution
  • Firebox interior carbon and grease removal
  • Grease management system — channels, trays, and collection cup
  • Ignition system — all zones tested
  • Rotisserie motor mount and spit (if applicable)
  • Exterior stainless steel — polished with the grain (not against it)
  • Side shelves, tool hooks, condiment trays
  • Interior cabinet/cart area
  • Full multi-zone performance test

For Napoleon built-in models, we also clean the housing area, ventilation space, and any access panels.

The Stainless Steel Situation

Napoleon uses high-quality stainless steel throughout their grills. It looks incredible when it's clean and terrible when it's not. Fingerprints, grease splatters, heat discoloration, and oxidation can make even a $3,000 Napoleon look neglected.

We polish all exterior stainless surfaces WITH the grain — never across it. Going against the grain creates scratches that catch light and look worse than the dirt you were trying to remove. We use stainless-specific cleaners that remove contaminants and restore the original finish.

For outdoor-exposed Napoleon grills, we also treat the stainless to resist future oxidation. Berks County's weather — humid summers, snowy winters — is tough on stainless steel.

Pricing

Napoleon cleaning runs $169 - $349. Rogue-series starts lower. Prestige and Prestige PRO models are mid-range. Built-in units with full outdoor kitchen integration are at the top. The $150 service fee covers our trip, specialized supplies, and stainless steel polish.

FAQ — Napoleon

Will you clean the SIZZLE ZONE with the same wire brush you use on the main grates?

+

Never. The infrared ceramic emitter in the SIZZLE ZONE requires non-abrasive tools only. Wire brushes, scrapers, and harsh chemicals can damage the ceramic and ruin the infrared performance. We use brass brushes and heat-based cleaning methods that remove buildup without touching the ceramic surface integrity.

My Napoleon's stainless steel has blue/gold heat discoloration. Can you remove it?

+

Heat tinting (that rainbow/blue/gold coloring on stainless) is caused by extreme heat oxidizing the surface. It's cosmetic and doesn't affect performance. Light heat tinting can be reduced with stainless steel polish. Heavy tinting is essentially permanent — the metal surface has changed color at a molecular level. We'll improve it as much as possible and manage your expectations honestly.

How do I maintain the WAVE grids between cleanings?

+

After each cook, while the grill is still hot, brush the grids with a brass or nylon grill brush (never wire — fragments can break off). The WAVE valleys trap grease, so brush along the wave direction, not against it. Every few cooks, heat the grill to maximum and run it for 15 minutes with the lid closed to burn off surface buildup. For the deep stuff in the wave valleys? That's our job.

Can you service the rotisserie motor and components?

+

We clean the motor mount, spit, forks, and the rear infrared burner. We don't service the motor internals — if the motor is failing (grinding, slow turning, not engaging), that's an electrical component that should be replaced. We'll test motor function during our visit and let you know if it needs attention.

I have a Napoleon Phantom (matte black finish). Does that require different cleaning?

+

The Phantom's matte black finish is more fingerprint-resistant than standard stainless but shows dust and watermarks more visibly. We use different products for matte finishes — no standard stainless steel polish (it would create shiny spots). The cooking components are identical to other Napoleon models and get the same thorough cleaning.
